Who we are
Debbie’s Bear Hugs is a small handmade craft business based in Nottinghamshire, run by Debbie. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information is collected through debbiesbearhugs.co.uk, how it is used, and the rights you have over it.
What we collect
- Order details — your name, delivery address, email address, phone number if you provide one, and what you have ordered.
- Personalisation details — any names or dates you ask to have embroidered, and any notes about your clothing or design.
- Messages — anything you send through the contact form or by email.
- Basic technical information — the minimum needed for the website and checkout to work.
Personalisation details often include the name of someone dear to you. They are used only to make your bear, and never for anything else.
How we use it
Your information is used to make and deliver your order, to send you order emails — including your printable order slip and your approval photo — and to reply to your messages. You will only hear from us about your own order or your own enquiry.
Who we share it with
Only the people needed to get your bear to you: the postal service receives your name and address to deliver your parcel, our payment provider processes your payment securely (full card details are never seen or stored by Debbie’s Bear Hugs), and our website host stores the site’s data. Your information is never sold or rented to anyone, ever.
Cookies
The site uses only the minimal cookies needed for it to function — for example, remembering what is in your basket during checkout. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires. Messages are kept only as long as they are needed to help you, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we no longer need it to meet a legal obligation. To make any of these requests, simply get in touch through the contact page. If you are ever unhappy with how your information has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
